Jason and I headed out to the mall yesterday and came home with two new beauties:

As I mentioned last week, my computer was on it’s way out.  Jason’s computer hasn’t worked properly since he purchased it 5 years ago.  So, we upgraded and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

I can do some seriously amazing photo editing with my new 24″ screen.  Maybe this will even improve the content of this blog…  no promises, though!

Yesterday was Jason’s golden birthday!  Happy birthday, J!

jt-baby_0003Look, J – this is you 31 years ago!  (held by big brother, Kevin)

The celebration included me working all day and Jason doing something (although, I’m not sure what, because I was working).  I did catch Jason eating ice cream cake for breakfast… it’s his birthday tradition.

At some point, he went to the MegaMall by himself to pick up lunch and do a little shopping.  And, look!  He came home with my Christmas present – an awesome new Fossil purse.  I’ve been whining about “needing” a new purse lately, and I think he did a pretty great job!  Yeah, it’s a month late, but worth the wait!  (In his defense, I was initially going to pick one out myself, but couldn’t decide which one I liked the best.  I’m so glad that he just picked one for me!)

Later in the day, we went out for pizza at Black Sheep Pizza, and it was delish.  Our night on the town was pretty short-lived, though, because I had to head back home so that I could work more.  Not a very exciting birthday for Jason…  so we might try again next weekend?

The new camera is put to good use.

We’ve been using our new major award camera to take pictures of our favorite subject: our boy dog, Barley.  None of them are professional quality yet, but I thought I’d share them with you anyways…

A close up of Barley’s nose.

Bath time! I like how you can see the drops of water coming off of his belly. And check out his big ole tongue licking the water off of his face.

Doggy doesn’t like water. I like how the water turned out in this picture…

Again, the drips on this one are super-cool. Yay for fun camera settings!

I think this one is my favorite bathtime photo, though. This one really captures the anxiety on his face. Poor doggy trembled through the entire bath! After we brought him home from the pound and tried to bathe him, he freaked out and escaped from the tub. So we gave him sponge baths on the deck for a little while (when we lived in Kentucky), but it is far too cold for sponge baths now. Fortunately, his freaking out and escaping has turned into freaking out and shaking but letting us clean him anyways.

I let him try my scarf on. He does NOT look impressed.

This is how doggy spends most of his days… sitting by the window, checking stuff out. The window sill is just the perfect height for him to rest his chin on.

I think this is my favorite picture of the set, though. I dig the lighting in this one. It was an accident… I haven’t learned to specifically light things this way yet…

Housekeeping!

(but not in the sense you’re thinking)

In an effort to make this blog a little more user-friendly, I’ve added a few things:

1. Our new blog email address is at the right. Too shy to leave a comment? Have something specific you want to ask about? Email us!

2. A subscription link has also been added to the right sidebar. You can subscribe to us in a blog-reading service (I am partial to Google Reader) or via email by clicking on the appropriate link. For those that don’t know, blog reading services provide one platform for you to check all of your favorite blogs from. So if you’re into reading several blogs, subscribe to one of these babies and they’ll automatically check all of your favorite blogs for new content. If ours is the only blog on your list, it might be easier to subscribe via email. That way, all new blog entries will show up in your inbox automatically.

Of course, we hope you’ll still visit the actual blog from time to time to leave us comments! We love comments (especially nice ones!)!!
