Parties and Pretzels

In the past few days, we’ve been busy with parties and Christmas preparations. It’s been fun, but busy!

Jason and I have both had our office parties. My office party featured meatballs, cookies, and an insane amount of holiday garland. Jason’s office party? Tacos, beer, karaoke, and pool. Pretty sweet.

Sanna (our Swedish roommate) and I stayed up late last night making chocolate covered pretzels. Neither of us have made them before, and we were surprised at how easy they are! After only 3 short calls to Jason’s mom and a trip to the craft store, we were well on our way to making 6 dozen chocolate-covered pretzels for the cookie exchange party we attended this afternoon.

Our creations!  Stunning no?  We added mini m&ms, sprinkles, peppermint, and white chocolate toppings.

St. Nick came to our house and filled our stockings while we were sleeping last night. Barley was pretty psyched to get some doggy treats and a new bone. The rest of us were all quite pleased with our treats, too. Looks like we’ve been good kids this year!

This morning, Jason, Barley, and I headed to the Christmas party at our realtor’s office. We brought some toys for donation, got our picture taken with Santa, chit chatted with our awesome realtor buddies, and came home with a Christmas tree.

Our Christmas tree… stay tuned to see it decorated.

Then, Sanna and I headed out to a coworker’s house for some cookie decorating and the aforementioned cookie exchange. And now, we have 6 dozen cookies to eat between the two of us (Jason doesn’t eat cookies). Which is good and bad.

Just a few of our decorating creations… some turned out better than others.

Stay tuned for more holiday preparations and decorations!

  1. Now, some day, when you have a real oven, I can tell you how to make the other pretzel treats. They are even easier!
