I’m Jen, he’s Jason. We just got married!
We bought a 1500 square foot house in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul (Minnesota) in December 2007. The house was built in the 1920’s, updated in the 1950’s, and is currently in need of a serious makeover. We started making some updates to the house.
But then! Life threw a wrench in our home remodeling plans: Jason landed his dream job! In Michigan!
So we’re moving – cross-country – for the third time in as many years. Watch us organize and depersonalize as we try to sell our house! Watch us box up all of our possessions and load it on to a truck! Watch us have a long-distance marriage for a few months while we get the details of the move sorted out!
Sound like fun?
Yeah, I don’t think so either. But it should be good in the long run. And I am nominating myself for the wife-of-the-year award.
At least I get custody of the dog until J and I are reunited…

This is the true story of two geeky science-y types who got married, bought a house, and adopted a dog (not necessarily in that order). Six months after the wedding, he landed his dream job in another state, they sold the house, and someday she'll follow. Can she quit her current job, find a new job, move, and settle in a new home, all while taking millions of photos of the dog? Only time will tell... Subscribe!
